Maxo Kream- “Weight Of The World” (Album Review)

Following up 2019s Brandon BanksMaxo Kream certainly had big shoes to fill, but his newest lp, Weight Of The World, doesn’t shy away from the challenge. Through a star-studded tracklist that features Tyler The Creator, A$AP Rocky, Freddie Gibbs, and more, Kream puts together an experience that’s both entertaining to the ear and fulfilling to the soul. For as boisterous and in your face as Maxo can be, he fills even the most firey of bangers with passion and heart. On top of the moments that you would expect on a record like this, what makes the album to the next level is Maxo’s ability to go surprisingly deep into his inner traumas, which covers topics as gruesome as his early exposure to the street culture and his understanding that his life would be over at an age younger than most. Between the moments like these and the consistently high level of quality and originality through each track, you will not find yourself bored for a single moment of this lp. Overall, the perfect blend of potency and fun, with versatile soundscape and top-notch guest performances, Weight Of The World is an easy contender for trap album of the year.
