Dom Kennedy- “From the Westside With Love Three” (Album Review)

On From the Westside With Love Three, underground hip hop staple Dom Kennedy delivers one of the driest and most unadventurous projects that’s come out all year. While some bad records can at least be entertaining to unravel because of the absolute train wrecks they are, from start to finish this lp is a total snooze fest with lyricism that’s offensively boring and a soundscape that can’t even do the bare minimum to engage the listener. Every instrumental presented here is just more boring than the next and while Dom isn’t saying anything that would stick out as pure garbage, his jog through the most generic topics rappers cover is on full display in the worst way possible. Even the few beats from non other than Hit-Boy can save Dom from his lifeless performance. Coming from a talented mc like Kennedy, you would expect much more from a record than just meaningless words and a production job that does nothing more than scratch off the bare minimum for a palatable experience.
