Teaming up with renowned producer F1lthy, Lucki has added another nice addition to his catalog with WAKE UP LUCKI. In a mere 30 minutes, the rapper-producer pair puts together a solid effort filled with spacey instrumentals and some topically dense but nice-sounding bars from the Chicago trapper himself. With 12 tracks following this formula, the pair shows off their chemistry, with F1lthys score being quite excellent as he’s able to make each one of his synth-heavy instrumentals feel different enough from the last. While the laidback approach of Lucki makes particular moments feel dull at times, he does enough to make this experience fun despite its predictability. All in all, Wake Up Lucki may fall flat in certain portions, but the production from F1lthy alone mixed with a decent enough performance from Lucki makes for a product better than most else that has come out in trap this year.
