Your Old Droog & Tha God Fahim- “Tha YOD Fahim” (Album Review)

Dump Gawd members Your Old Droog and Tha God Fahim are already back with their second collaboration of the year in Tha YOD Fahim. Opposed to their last record, Tha Wolf On Wall St, the production is a lot more intuitive here, and with 41 minutes of running time, the duo is able to flesh out the experience to the fullest. Lyrically speaking, both Droog and Fahim are at their best as on top of their prolific chemistry, the subject matter addressed is a lot more thoughtful. Topping all this off with a rarely given and striking feature from the legendary Pharoahe Monch, this LP is easily one of the best this year has seen so far!

Rating: 7.4/10

Pros:

  • Both Tha God Fahim & Your Old Droog improve their subject matter by bringing up more potent topics
  • Intuitive soundscape offers much more than a usual Dump Gawd project.
  • Pharoahe Monch feature
  • Seamless chemistry
  • Great wordplay/songwriting

Cons:

  • A few tracks could have been left off or better structured
